An 11-step guide to getting your Mingle profile live and ready for real video dates

A complete, friendly profile helps you match with people who are right for you. Work through the steps below and you'll be ready to start five-minute video dates in minutes.

1.Permissions & photos

•Allow camera and microphone access when prompted. Mingle is built on face-to-face video, so these are essential.
•Upload a clear, recent head-and-shoulders photo as your main profile picture. Good lighting and a genuine smile work best.
•Add a full-length photo if you can. It helps others get a real sense of who they're meeting.
•All photos are checked for safety and clarity before going live.

2.About you

•Enter your display name, the name people will call you on calls.
•Add your date of birth so we can confirm you're 18 or over.
•Select your gender and the suburb or city you're based in. This is used for distance matching.

3.Who you want to meet

•Choose the gender(s) and age range you'd like to match with.
•Set how far you're willing to meet people. A wider range means more people to talk to.
•Be honest about your preferences, but stay open. Great chemistry often comes as a surprise.

4.Confirm you're 18+

•Complete a quick liveness check by following the on-screen prompt. This helps keep the community safe and free from fake profiles.
•Your verification result is stored securely and is never shared with other members.

5.Your bio

•Write a short, genuine bio in your own voice. Aim for 2-4 sentences that give someone a reason to say hello.
•Avoid long lists of must-haves. Instead, share a little about what makes you, you.
•Tip: a specific detail (e.g. a favourite weekend activity) sparks better conversations than generic statements.

6.Lifestyle

•Share optional lifestyle details: body type, drinking, smoking, exercise, family status, religion, politics, education, pets, and zodiac.
•These help others understand compatibility without over-explaining on the first call.
•Everything here is optional. Only share what you're comfortable with.

7.Interests & values

•Pick interests from the list. These show up on your profile and help others find common ground quickly.
•Select up to six personal values (e.g. Trust, Kindness, Adventure) that matter most to you.
•Choose your top two human needs from the Tony Robbins framework. This adds depth without getting too heavy.

8.What you're looking for

•Select the relationship style you're open to: long-term, short-term, casual, friendship, marriage, or just a chat.
•Pick up to five ideal partner traits across categories like Physical, Personality, Lifestyle, and Intimacy & Connection.
•Add up to five deal-breakers. Keep these realistic and respectful; nobody is perfect.

9.Contact & sharing

•Choose which contact details you're willing to share during a call. You control each one: phone, email, Instagram, WhatsApp, etc.
•Nothing is shared automatically. You approve every exchange, and only when you feel ready.

10.Extra photos

•Upload additional photos to show different sides of your life. Think hobbies, social settings, or a casual candid.
•You can reorder photos by dragging them. Your first photo is what people see in Browse.
•Aim for variety, but keep every photo clear, recent, and genuinely you.

11.Review & finish

•Review your profile before it goes live. Check spelling, photo quality, and that your preferences look right.
•Hit Finish to publish. Your profile becomes visible to other members and you can start browsing.
•You can always come back to edit your profile later from the account settings.
